The news of the sudden passing of Professor Emerita Eleni Zetou-Mountaki of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science at Democritus University of Thrace has deeply saddened us all.
Professor Emerita Eleni Zetou-Mountaki served as a faculty member in our Department from 2008 until her retirement in 2023. She left an indelible mark on the Department’s development, making substantial contributions to its teaching, research, and administrative work, as well as to the advancement and promotion of volleyball and the field of Motor Learning. She served as Director of the Coaching Science Division and Coordinator of the “Motor Performance and Physical Education” specialization track of the Laboratory.
With profound sorrow, we bid her farewell. We will deeply miss her presence, her inexhaustible energy, and her unwaveringly supportive and caring attitude toward all.
To her children, Niki and Lambros, we extend our sincere condolences on the loss of their mother.
May her memory be eternal.
