The Department of Physical Education and Sport Science (D.P.E.S.S.) of the School of Physical Education, Sport Science and Occupational Therapy at the Democritus University of Thrace (D.U.Th.) has extensive experience (since 1988) in organizing the third cycle of studies.
Doctoral Studies (third cycle of studies) at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science are organized and operated in accordance with the provisions of Law 4957/2022 and the applicable institutional framework in force at any given time. They provide specialization in the Department’s scientific disciplines and related fields, aim to promote original scientific research, make a substantial contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the relevant scientific field, and lead to the award of a Doctoral Degree, which is a high-level academic qualification corresponding to Level Eight (8) of the National and European Qualifications Framework, in accordance with Article 47 of Law 4763/2020.
Doctoral studies leading to the award of a Doctoral Degree are offered free of charge.
